 Re: Anybody hurt?
Along similar lines, I have a question...

How does Christianity explain the Dinosaurs? As far as I know, there is no
explanation for
Dinosaurs in the Bible, and I have heard of some extreme Christian sects
completely
dismissing the fact that they even existed. Does anyone know?

Re: Catholics vs. Christians

I don't think you can just sum it up in to "rules". The Catholic religion, and
variants of it,
have much more ritual, and tradition during their worship services, and the
focus is on the
church and not so much the individual. Evangelical christians believe that each
of us has
the power to have a relationship with God, and Catholics believe that you can't
reach God
without help from the Church.
6. My film is called "The Bird".  It is a fild about Charlie Parker.  I used imovie on my Mac. The only real problem I encountered is editing the music with the movie.  The music continues on for the full 4 minutes, yet the movie itself is really only about a minute and a half.  I couldn't cut the music to match the film.
7. I started all three books, but only fully completed the first one, Skeptics and True Believers. :(
8. Dawkins would critique Wilbur very simply.  He would ask Wilbur to simply give him evidence that there are different realms of consiousness.  He would say that there is no way there could be evidence of the last realm of consiousness because evidence is expeiential... it has to have been experienced.
9. Raymo argues that if Religion truly starts to believe in evolution, then it compromises a small part of the bible.  This then has a snowball effect, and starts to cause doubt about other parts of the bible.  If people accept evolution, Genesis become obsolete.  He argues that people aren't willing to give up any part of the bible becuase they don't want to start doubting their beliefs. .
10.  The spiritual type feelings of awe that Raymo speaks of are from science.  he feels that religion should offer those same types of feelings.  One example is the feeling given from Astonomy.  He says that when one looks amongst the heavens, the feeling is so overwhelming, and magestic.  He says Astonomy does a much better job of describing God in a magestic way, and shows his expanding universe than religion does.  Astronomy is something that is tangable.  Raymo believes this is what religion should be.  Religion should be thanking science for helping people discover Astronmy, and to allow people to see God bigger and greater through that science.
11.  Pseudosciences are actions that seem to have scientific evidence.  People think that they have some sort of significance, however, there is no true evidence to back them up.  One example is Astology, or tarot card reading.  Aukums Razor says to no multiply entities beyond their numbers.  With the pseudosciences, not only is there no proof, but it can be said that humans will find meaning in anything, and have some sort of intentionality with their outcomes.
12.
13. Dawkins believes that religion is like a virus of the mind because of the way organized religion can manipulate itself for the masses.  The Mean theory states that not necessarily the best idea wins... just the best at multiplying itself.  This is true with religion as well.  Dawkins frustrations come from the fact that religion doesn't tell you the truth to infect people with their ideas.  Truth doesn't sell.
14.  Considering that the religious believer had been inborn with the ideas of their faith, I think they would be somewhat taken aback by his philosophy.  Many Christians, for example, believe that they are truly making the world better by spreading their faith.  The church has instilled among its believers to spread the word of God.  "A true believer shares Gods love".
15.  A. Raymo would argue that the universe was created by evolutionism.  B.  Wilbur would argue that the world was created by God/ mystical experience.  C. Dawkins would argue that the world was created in the most basic form or evolution. D. The creationist would argue that God created the Heaven and Earth in 7 days.  E.  I believe that although all have strong oppinions, it would depend on who they were talking to.  If all of these gentlemen were talking to people who had no preconceived notions of religion, Dawkins would win.  He would argue that the Universe could be broken down in to the minutest form of molocules.  This is something science can offer that is tangable, and not mistical.
16.  Dawkins believes that science explains religion in terms of natural selection.  He also believes that religion can never offer proof and evidence as science can.
17.
18.  If the chaos of the evolution vs. creationism can be solved, it would be by following Wilburs philosophy.  He believed that the fundamental part of religion could be saved by throwing out 90% of organized religion.  He felt that the truth would shine through, and this would be some sort of mystical experience.
19.  Faqir explains why certain people have religious experiences by discovering that people give credit for good things happening to others, i.e. Guru's.  People have the capability to make good things happen in their lives, but when it does, they give the credit to someone else, and become dependent on that other person, or false idol.
20.  Skeptics and True Believers because it is the only one I completely finished.
